Elizabeth had been previously married to Samuel Canterbury, May 23 1872,10 by whom she had children Amanda, Dicy, Lavinia T., David M., Lillie B.10 and Mary S. Cantebery.2,10

For some reason two death records were recorded in Kanawha County, both on the same date: one as Perry Hanshaw (informant S.P. Spradling), and another as Pevey Hanshaw (informant P.A. Simpson).11

SPRADLING QUALIFIES
Silas P. Spradling has qualified in county court as administrator of the estate of the late Perry Hanshaw. He gave $200 bond, with Rose Barton as surety.
