Born Nov - 18232,3,4,6 [about 18285, about 18267], Virginia2,3,4,6.  

It is uncertain if Miriam was born Miriam Hanshaw, or was perhaps Miriam Almira Cozad, apparently "adopted" (formally or informally) by Mary Ann Obrion Simmons and the Francis Hanshaw family.8  

She married Jehu Summers2,4 [Jehu Jacob Summers9, Andrew Summers1].  Jehu was born about 1781, Virginia.2,4  

Jehu is believed to have been previously married to a Joanna Davis, who died of typhoid and by whom he had 14-16 children.8,9

Living nearby in 1850 was the family of a Jehu Summers Jr.,20 presumably Jehu's son from a previous marriage.21

Lewis, Almira, wife, age 57, born in Virginia; parents born in Virginia; keeping house; cannot write.
Living next door in 1880 was son Clark and his wife;19 Also living nearby were the families of son Andrew,11 son David,12 daughter America,18 and an unidentified Lemuel Summers, age 5023 (possibly Jehu's brother).21  

Charles died Jul 5 1891, Clay County, West Virginia.24  

Widow Miriam was shown in the 1900 census (Jun 21 1900), living in the household of son David in Henry District, Clay County, West Virginia:3
