Robert Henry Hinshaw

Robert Henry Hinshaw, 81, of 1302 Cleveland Ave. died Wednesday morning at a Durham convalescent home following a lengthy illness.  

A native of Chatham County and longtime resident of Burlington, he was a son of the late Henry Alexander and Jeanette Andrew Hinshaw.  He was the husband of Mrs. Myrtle Isley Hinshaw, who now resides at the Methodist Retirement Home in Durham.  

Mr. Hinshaw was a member of Davis Street United Methodist Church and the Men's Bible Class there.  He was a retired textile employe.  

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Dr. Arned L. Hinshaw of Durham; a daughter, Mrs. Una Hinshaw Holder of Raleigh; two brother, Orell Daniel Hinshaw of Burlington and Benjamin Hinshaw of Graham; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Bradshaw of Swepsonville and Mrs. Myrtle Wilkerson of Mebane; and four grandchildren.  

Final rites will be conducted Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock at Davis Street United Methodist Church.  The Rev. R. E. L. Moser, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in the Mt. Herman United Methodist Church Cemetery.  

The body will remain at the Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington until being taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes before the service.  

The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 o'clock and at other times the family will be at the home.

Myrtle died Oct 9 1981, Durham, Durham County, North Carolina; age 87.3,8
