On Jan 29 1864ⁱ at Camp Holmes, near Raleigh, North Carolina,^197,i Moses E. Hinshaw enlisted^197,i as a private in Company G, 13th Infantry Regiment, North Carolina Confererate Army.^i,j    In his enlistment, Moses claimed residence in Edgecombe County, North Carolina.ⁱ    Moses was later captured.¹⁹⁷

He married Lovie Vestal, Mar 16 1873, Hamilton County, Indiana.^k    (Lovey Vestal)^205,c,h,d    (Lavina Vestal)^43,a,f    Lovie, daughter of Alfred Vestal & Winnie Staley, was born Apr 21 1850, North Carolina.^{205,e,f,g,h,l,d}    (c1854).^b    Note that Moses' brother Alfred married Lavina's sister Minerva Vestal.
