Florence had been previously married to John Primer, by whom she had three children,^f,148 including daughter Leona Primer and son Ellsworth "Ellsie" Primer.^g

On Jun 5 1917 Clifford Earl Hinshaw, age 23, registered for the World War I draft in Ross County, Ohio.    He declared he was born May 29 1893 in Bainbridge, Ohio, and he was then still residing in Bainbridge where he was a self-employed farmer with a wife and three children.    He claimed an exemption due to support of family.    He was recorded as medium height, medium build, blue eyes, dark brown hair.    Disability: "shot in foot slightly disable".^b
