William inherited lands from his father and became one of the propserous farmers of his township. He was a ruling elder of the Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church for many years and an active worker in that church.1
He married Ann Parker, May 28 1807, Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church, Laurel Hill, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.1,2,3,9 Ann was born 1786, Pennsylvania.1,2,3

Although it has been reported that William died Mar 14 1845,1,2 this date is incorrect. William Henshaw was shown in the 1850 census (Sep 25 1850), living in Union Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania with daughter Caroline and son William & his family:8
William Henshaw, age 63, born in Pennsylvania; farmer; $650 real estate.
Living next door in 1850 was son James.14
