Hinshaw, Harold, head-of-household, age 22, born in Missouri; completed 8th grade; on Apr 1 1935 was living in the same place/town; rented home ($8/month rent); occupation: button cutter, button factory; worked 12 weeks in 1939; $700 wages in 1939.
Hinshaw, Velma, wife, age 18, born in Illinois; completed 2 years of high school; on Apr 1 1935 was living in rural Henderson County, Illinois.

In 1994-2010 Harold and Velma were still living in Oquawka, Henderson County, Illinois.7,8,9,14,16

Harold Henshaw

Harold W. "Hen" Henshaw, 92, of Oquawka, Ill., died at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at his home.  

Born Feb. 28, 1918, in Sampsel, Mo., he was the son of Doss and Lizzie Simmons Henshaw.  On Nov. 4, 1939, he married Velma M. Simpson in Kahoka, Mo.  

Mr. Henshaw worked at the button factory in Oquawka and operated a sawmill in Oquawka until 1961.  He worked 17 years as a forester in Big River State Park and eight years with Des Moines County in conservation.  He did small engine repairs at his shop in Oquawka after retiring.  He was raised in Oquawka and Gladstone, Ill., where he attended local schools.  He enjoyed fishing and family fish fries.  

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Dixie Bigger of Biggsville, Ill., and Joyce Jones and Nancy Henshaw, both of Oquawka; three sons, Jack L. Henshaw and Jay W. Henshaw, both of Oquawka, and Allen R. Henshaw of Keithsburg, Ill.; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Delores Olson and Shirley Lox, both of Oquawka; nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by one daughter, one grandchild, his parents, three brothers and one sister.  

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka where the family will receive friends.  

The graveside funeral for Mr. Henshaw will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Oquawka Cemetery.  

A memorial has been established for Henderson County Humane Society.

Velma died Sep 12 2014, at her home, Oquawka, Henderson County, Illinois; age 91.17  

Velma's obituary was published in "The Register-Mail" (Galesburg, Illinois) on September 13, 2014:17

OQUAWKA - Velma Mae Henshaw, 91, Oquawka, died at 3:23 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at home.  

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka.  Her family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.  A memorial fund is being established for The Muscular Dystrophy Association.
