A Bastardy Bond was recorded in Yadkin County, North Carolina on Mar 22 1873, showing Malinda C. Hinshaw as mother; Joseph Hinshaw and I.A. Reece were bondsman.10 This was the birth of daughter Nancy.2
She married Joseph Miller Reavis, May 3 1887, at the home of her parents, Yadkin County, North Carolina.1,3 (Marriage license dated May 2 1887).1 Joseph, son of Joseph Reavis & Nancy Powell, was born Jun - 1867, North Carolina.1,8,9,11
The marriage license shows both Melinda and J.M. Reavis were age 211 (although this appears to be incorrect). The marriage license was witnessed by a J.T. Dobbins1 - this might be an uncle (Melinda's mother, Lucinda Dobbins, had a brother named James and another brother Joel).
