He married Gertrude Lorraine Miller, Jul 16 1932, Medford, Oregon.1,2 Gertrude, daughter of John Jacob Miller & Eva May Cripps, was born Mar 11 1916, LeSeur, Minnesota.1,2,5

Chester Edward Hinshaw died Mar 13 1997, Chico, Butte County, California; buried Section 6, Block 2, Lot 37, Space 9, Gridley-Biggs Cemetery, Gridley, Butte County, California.1,2,5,6,7,10 Medical: Chester died from a stroke.1
Chester's obituary was published in the "Chico Enterprise Record", Chico, California, on Mar 16 1997.11

The following is a short biography by Chester's niece Marion Hinshaw:1
Chester grew up in Gridley, CA and on July 16, 1932, married Gertrude Miller, of Gridley, in Medford, Oregon. Chester was employed by Bank of America for three years, and in 1935, started working for the Diamond Match Company. In l949, he became a district manager for the company, and in 1956, he was promoted to General Manager of the Western Retail Division. Nine years later, Chester became Vice President of all Diamond retail operations nationwide. Chester and Gertrude settled in Chico, CA in 1979 where Chester was an elder at the Neighborhood Church and was actively involved in the ministry of caring for widows. Chester loved the outdoors, mountains, hunting and fishing. He was a life member of the North America Hunting Club.
