Robert S. Charnota

Age 65.  Passed away July 23, 2004 in his home after a battle with cancer.  Robert was born in Chicago, IL and was a resident of New Lenox Township for 30 years.

Survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Jeannine Hinshaw Charnota of Joliet; his children, Cherylnn (Kenneth) Nordwall of New Lenox, Patrice (Wayne) Hipple of Bourbonnais, Donald Charnota of Joliet, Rebecca (James) Smithson of Manteno, IL and Laura (Gene) Hulen of Clayton, GA; ten grandchildren; and his dear friend, Barbara Davidson of New Lenox.

Bob was a member of the Elevator Mechanics Local #2.  He was known to many local restaurateurs as a man who could fix anything.  Chewing on a toothpick was very characteristic of him.  Most Sundays, Bob could be seen at the I-80 Flea Market.  It is a great loss to his family and he will be missed by many.
