He married Judith P. Paris.1  Judith was born 1940.6  

Jim and Judith were divorced.1  

He then married Gail Sine, about 1975.4  

James had over forty years experience in the field of Electrical Distribution.  His first experience working with electrical wire and cable was in the Army Signal Corp. from 1959 to 1961 as a telephone lineman.  When his time in the service ended, he began working for an electrical wholesaler in Los Angeles, California, where he was a warehouseman from 1961 to 1964.  In 1964 he started his professional career working at McNaughton & McKay Electric in Detroit, Michigan.  In 1971, James joined a wire and cable distributor in Detroit as Vice President of Sales.  In 1975, he left the wire and cable distributor to start his own cable company in the inner city of Detroit.  With initial capital of five thousand dollars the company grew from four employees to over two hundred employees.  The company placed 285 on the Inc. 500 List in December 1983, and was also listed as one of the top 100 private companies in Michigan.  When he sold his shares in the company in May 1987, the company had annual sales of more than $40 million.7  

In October 1987, Jim started "JCH Wire & Cable" in Las Vegas, Nevada, with only three employees in a 1,000 square foot leased building; it has now grown to over 100 employees.  JCH Wire & Cable has made the Las Vegas Top 100 Private Companies list for three consecutive years.7,8  

In 1993 Jim founded "JCH Technologies", specializing in custom cable assemblies, subassemblies, and discreet wiring harnesses.9  

In 2001, Jim received an award as the City of North Las Vegas Small Business Person of the Year.  In addition, James received an honor from the North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce in the large business category.7  

In 2004 Jim was living in Las Vegas, Nevada.2  

James Corwin Hinshaw died Jan 25 2014.4

JAMES HINSHAW James "Jim" Corwin Hinshaw peacefully transitioned Jan. 25, 2014.  A 25-year resident of Las Vegas, Jim was born Jan. 29, 1940, in Pasadena, Calif.  The CEO of JCH Wire and Cable, Jim was part of the electrical distribution industry for over 50 years, beginning with service in the U.S. Army Signal Corps as a telephone lineman.  He went on to own two companies, Northern Wire and Cable in Michigan and JCH Wire and Cable in North Las Vegas.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Hinshaw and Ellen Blachley.  Jim is survived by his wife, of 38 years, Gail (nee Sine); three daughters, Mary Mimura and Susan McNeill, both of California, and Jody Ashton; five grandchildren, RJ, Jake, Kimi, Tami and Dean; two brothers, Ken and Richard, both of California.  Jim is also survived by his constant four-legged companion Casper, whom Jim adored.  Viewing will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, with services following, both at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Las Vegas Rescue Mission.
