On Oct 16 1940 Willard Gray Hinshaw, age 29, registered for the [World War II] draft in High Point, Guilford County, North Carolina. He declared he was born Aug 21 1911 in High Point, Guilford County, North Carolina, and was then still residing in High Point, employed by the Heritage Farm Co. of High Point. He declared his relative/contact was his wife, Mrs. Massie Helen Hinshaw of 1309 Franklin St., High Point. He was recorded as 6' tall, 200 lbs., brown eyes, brown hair, ruddy complexion, and "scar over left eye".⁴

Willard Gray Hinshaw died Dec 23 1959, High Point Memorial Hospital, High Point, Guilford County, North Carolina; age 48.^5,6,7 Medical: Willard died from carbon monoxide poisoning.⁷
