Born Aug - 18944,5,7 [Mar 18 18951,8,9,10], Springfield, Missouri4,5,7.  

On Jun 5 1917 Virgil Henshaw, age 23, registered for the World War I draft in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.  He declared he was born March 18 1895 in Springfield, Missouri, and was then residing at 301 W. 7th, Oklahoma City, single, with a dependent mother.  He was recorded as 5'3" tall, slender, brown eyes, brown hair.8  

He married Nellie Cody.1,10  Nellie was born about 1895, Illinois.1  

Virgil and family were shown in the 1920 census (Jan 9 1920), 606 1/2 West Sixth, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma:1

Hinshaw, Virgil, head-of-household, age 24, born in Missouri; father born in Virginia [sic]; mother born in Texas; occupation: shipping clerk, motor co.
Hinshaw, Nellie, wife, age 25, born in Illinois; parents born in Illinois.
Hinshaw, Virgil Jr., son, age 2 months, born in Oklahoma; father born in Missouri; mother born in Illinois.

Nellie died Nov 21 1927, buried Rose Hill Burial Park, 6001 NW Grand Blvd., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.10  

Nellie's obituary was published as follows:10

Mrs. Nellie Cody Hinshaw, ?? years old, died Monday morning in a city hospital.  Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. W.H.R. Urch, from the Street & Draper chapel, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.  Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery.  She is survived by her husband, V.J. Hinshaw, and one son, Jack Hinshaw, 8 years old.

Henshaw, Virgil, head-of-household, age 45, born in Texas; completed 7th grade; on Apr 1 1935 was living in the same place/city; single; rented home ($8/month rent); occupation: manager, parking lot; worked 52 weeks in 1939; $500 wages in 1939.

Henshaw, Jack, son, age 20, born in Oklahoma; completed 4 years of high school; single; occupation: interior decorator, own account.

In 1968 Virgil was still living in/near Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.9  

James Virgil Hinshaw died Jun 9 1968, buried Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, Grady County, Oklahoma.9,10
