In 1919, Ted surveyed the roads in Klickitat County, Washington.^a    In 1926, he was Assistant State Highway Engineer in Nevada.^a

He married Ina E. Johnson, 1927, Reno, Nevada.^a    Ina was born Jan 17 1893, Alta, California.^a,e

Ted and family were shown in the 1930 census (Apr 8 1930), 438 40th Ave., San Francisco, California:^f

Ina died Nov 25 1970, Newport Beach, Orange County, California; age 77.^a,e

The following article appeared in "History of Klickitat County", edited by Pete May, published 1982 by the Kickitat County Historical Society:^h

Ernest T. "Ted" Hinshaw (1891-1955) was a popular sports figure in early KIickitat County baseball circles.    As assistant to George Borden, early county engineer, he laid out many county roads still in use.    Ted Hinshaw later became state engineer in Nevada and, later still, as engineer and executive with Calaveras Cement Company in California, had a prominent part in developing that state's highway network.    Following his active years in highways, he retired as a motel owner in Seaside, Calif.    Ted and his wife Ina were parents of one son, also Ernest T. "Ted" Hinshaw, who is West Coast executive of Capitol Investments in Los Angeles.    He and his wife Nell reside in Newport Beach, Calif. and have four children.
