Born Aug 10 1831, Tennessee.1,6  

He married Frances A. Goldsmith, Oct 30 1856, Mississippi County, Missouri.1,13,14,15  Frances was born about 1838, Indiana.1  

Andrew and family were shown in the 1860 census (Jul 13 1860), Columbus District, Hickman County, Kentucky:1,16

A. J. Hinshaw, age 27, born in Tennessee; farmer; $500 real estate; $160 personal property; cannot read or write.
Frances A. Hinshaw, age 21, born in Indiana.
William T. Hinshaw, age 1, born in Kentucky.
Carroll Hinshaw, male, age 22, born in Tennessee; laborer; cannot read or write.
Living two houses away was Thomas & Catherine Goldsmith,17 who might have been the parents of Frances.18  

The Carroll Hinshaw above in the 1860 census is currently unidentified, but he might possibly have been Carrel Hinshaw #72118 (if so the perhaps Andrew and Carrel might have been closely related).18  

Frances died after 1860.1  (probably about 1864).1  

He then married Nancy L. Godwin1,6 [Nancy L. (Godwin) McDougal], Sep 1 18671,6, Hickman County, Kentucky1,6.  Nancy had been previously married to -- McDougal.6  Nancy, daughter of William Cornelius Godwin & Sabella Brandon1,6,19,20, was born Aug 12 18411,6,19,20 [Aug - 18598], Rutherford County, Tennessee1,6,19,20.  (Nancy's father William was born May 11 1815, died Sep 2 1905, Mississippi County, Missouri).6

Hinshaw, Mary C., age 2, born in Kentucky.
Hinshaw, John S., age 2 months, born Apr 1870 in Kentucky.

Andrew J. Henshaw was shown in the Tax List for Hickman County, Kentucky in the years 1870 through 1873.21  By 1874 he was no longer shown in the Tax List21 and it is believed it was about that time that the family moved to Mississippi County, Missouri.21

Luther Hinshaw, son, age 3, born in Missouri; parents born in Tennessee; attended school.
Lillie Hinshaw, daughter, age 1, born in Missouri; parents born in Tennessee; attended school.

Andrew Jackson Hinshaw died Mar 22 1887, Mississippi County, Missouri; buried Brownsville Cemetery, Hickman County, Kentucky.1  His headstone reads:

Heaven now retains our treasure.  
Earth the lonely casket keeps, and the sunbeams long to linger where our sainted Father sleeps.
His gravestone adjoins the grave of his son John.  

After Andrew died, widow Nancy was cared for by son Luther, who never married, as he felt an obligation to care for her.1

Widow Nancy and son Luther were shown in the 1910 census (Apr 18 1910), Walnut Street, Hibbard, Mississippi County, Missouri:20

Hinshaw, Nancy L., mother, age 78, born in Tennessee; parents born in U.S.; widow; cannot read or write.
Living just a few houses away in 1920 was the family of son Oscar.23  

Nancy died Jun 8 1927, Hickman, Fulton County, Kentucky; buried Jun 9 1927, Brownsville Cemetery, Hickman County, Kentucky.1,6,19,21  Death certificate #12864; informant was son Luther Hinshaw of Hickman, Kentucky.19  Medical: Nancy died from dysentery.19
