On Sep 12 1918 William Wade Hinshaw, Jr., age 20, registered for the World War I draft in Washtenaw County, Michigan.  He declared he was born March 4, 1898 and he then resided at 1012 E. University, Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan, where he was a student at the University of Michigan.  He declared his nearest relative was his father, W W Hinshaw, of 1 W. 51st St., New York, New York.  He was recorded as tall, slender, brown eyes, brown hair.10  

William was shown in the 1920 census (Jan 21 1920), living in the household of his widowed aunt Freme in Ann Arbor, Michigan.11  

Hinshaw, William W Jr, nephew, age 21, born in Indiana; parents born in Iowa; single; occupation: none.

He married Hester Maclanahan Busey, Sep 1 1927.1,5  Hester, daughter of Dr. Charles Edgar + Rosa Terrill Busey5,6,13,14, was born Aug 8 18975,6,13,14 [about 190312], Virginia5,6,13,14.  

William and Hester were shown in the 1930 census (Apr 21 1930), 563 Kimball Road, Highland Park, Lake County, Illinois:12

Hinshaw, William, head-of-household, age 32, born in Indiana; father born in Indiana; mother born in United States; first married at age 29; owned home ($40,000 value); radio in home; occupation: secretary, banking; not a veteran.
Hinshaw, Hester B., wife, age 27, born in Virginia; parents born in Virginia; first married at age 24.
Willson, Aillene, maid, age 23, born in Minnesota; father born in Finland; mother born in Michigan; single; occupation: maid, private family.

Hester died Oct - 1976, Tucson, Pima County, Arizona.2,6,7  

In 1987 William was living in/near Tucson, Pima County, Arizona.6
