She married Ira B. Purchase, about 1916.3,4,7  Ira, son of James Edwin Purchase & Sarah Elizabeth Mizner8, was born Jun - 18918 [18929, Jun 16 189310, about 18933,4], Olive Township, Ottawa County, Michigan8.  Ira was the brother of Ralph Purchase who married Bertha's sister Alice.3,9

On Jun 5 1917 Ira B. Purchase, age 24, had registered for the World War I draft in Muskegon Heights, Muskegon County, Michigan.  He declared he was born June 16 1893 in Olive Township, Michigan, and was then residing in Muskegon, Michigan where he was married with a wife and child, and employed as a pattern maker.  He claimed an exemption due to "eye sight".  He was recorded as tall, stout, blue eyes, dark hair.10

In 1983 Bertha was living in/near Clearwater, Pinellas County, Florida.5
