Born Mar 20 1868, Arden District, Berkeley County, West Virginia.1,2,3  

He married Georgia Ingraham Burns4,5 [Georgia Ingram Burns1,3], Mobile, Alabama4,5.  Georgia was born Mobile, Alabama.  

William graduated with a degree in medicine from the University of New York in 1889.  He served as a major in the Medical Corps during the Spanish-American War.  In 1921 he was appointed West Virginia State Health Commissioner, a position he held until he retired.1  

William Thornton Henshaw died 1948.1,3
