Born Dec 8 1856, Union County, Kentucky.1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 James' gravestone shows he was born Dec 1 1855, but the family bible shows Dec 8 1856,1 and the 1900 census shows Dec 1856.2 Although his death certificate shows he was born Dec 8, the year is unclear (185?);7,8 from the age shown on his death certificate his birthdate would compute to Dec 8 18557,8,9 (probably a computational error with the death certificate).
He married Susan "Sudie" Morris, Sep 10 1879.1,10 Susan, daughter of Thomas Morris & Mary Ann Shipp, was born Mar 28 1861, Woodford County, Kentucky.1,2,3,6,7,9
James was a farmer in Shiloh Precinct, Union County, Kentucky.10
