John was a graduate of Ohio State University.1,4  He was a farmer and never married.1  

In 2004 John was still living in Wooster, Wayne County, Ohio.5  

John Nathaniel Henshaw died Jun 23 2008, buried Wayne Presbyterian Church cemetery, 7152 Burbank Road, Wooster, Ohio.4

John Henshaw

WOOSTER -- John Nathaniel Henshaw, 92, of West Smithville-Western Road, died Monday, June 23, 2008, after a period of declining health.  

Memorial services will be Friday, June 27, at 11 a.m. at Wayne Presbyterian Church, 7152 Burbank Road, Wooster, with the Rev. Robert Meyer officiating.  Private burial will be in the church cemetery.  

The family will receive friends at the church following the services.  

McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster is handling arrangements.  

Those who wish may make contributions to Wayne Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 7152 Burbank Road, Wooster; or Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.  

John was born Oct. 30, 1915, in Wooster to Luther and Haddie (Porter) Henshaw.  He was a 1935 graduate of Wooster High School and The Ohio State University School of Horticulture.  

He served in World War II with the 316th Troop Carrier Group in Northern Africa and Europe.  Following the war, he farmed the family homestead until retirement.  

He was a life member of Wayne Presbyterian Church.  

"Uncle John" is survived by nieces and nephews, Tom (Pat) Henshaw, Janet (Ben) Hickey, Joan (Ed) Millspaw, Doug (Cindy) Henshaw, John (JoAnne) Sleesman, Craig (Liz) Sleesman, Marsha (Tim) Waibel, David (Jane) Cottrell, Caroline (Stuart) Bell, Sara (Glen) Winston, Martha (Bill) Watkins, Maryanna (Don) Harley and Paul (Suzanne) Lawton; and a sister, Adelaide Lawton.  

He was preceded in death by sisters, Ruth Baker, Mary Cottrell and Helen Sleesman; a brother, William Henshaw; and a niece, Rachel (Dick) Troup.
