Western U.'s
Red Cats In
Sun Bowl Win

EL PASO, Texas (AP) -- A cactus country jinx -- this time Halfback Johnny Ries and Dick Booth and a band of fighting Red Cats from Western Reserve university -- spilled Arizona State of Tempe 26-13 in the Sun Bowl.

In six New Year's Day football games here, the Border conference champions, home team in the Southwestern conference, have not won a victory.

Hascall Henshaw of Tempe shared the spotlight before 14,000 fans with Ries, the victors' triple threat back, and Booth, whose punts gave the outplayed visitors repeated advantage and possibly their triumph.

He married Marjorie Betty Burgess.1,2  Marjorie was born Tucson, Pima County, Arizona.

Harold and Marjorie were apparently divorced.  Marjorie died Dec 31 2005.7  Marjorie's obituary was published in "The Arizona Republic" (Phoeniz, Arizona) on January 8, 2006:7
