Hanshaw, Jack, head-of-household, age 24, born in West Virginia; parents born in West Virginia; first married at age 20; rented home ($5 rent); no radio in home; occupation: farmer, general farm; not a veteran.
Hanshaw, Thelma, wife, age 21, born in West Virginia; parents born in West Virginia; first married at age 18.
Hanshaw, Doy, son, age 4, born in West Virginia; parents born in West Virginia.
Hanshaw, Dorothy, daughter, age 2, born in West Virginia; parents born in West Virginia.

In 1944 Jack was living in Procious, Clay County, West Virginia.8  

Roy Jackson Hanshaw died Apr 1 1968, Barberton, Summit County, Ohio; buried Hively Cemetery, off Rt. 36 two miles south of Wallback, Clay County, West Virginia.5,7,13  

After Roy died Thelma remarried to Roy's brother-in-law, Hiram "Albert" Thomas.12,14  Their marriage ended in divorce.14  

Thelma died Jan 9 1999, Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Hospital, Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia; age 89.6,12  

Thelma's obituary was published in the "Charleston Gazette" (Charleston, West Virginia) on January 12, 1999;12

PROCIOUS - Thelma Hanshaw Thomas, 89, of Procious died Jan. 9, 1999, in General Division, CAMC, after a long illness.  

She was a homemaker and a Christian.  

Surviving: daughters, Daisy Clark of Girrard, Ohio, Dora Jane Crawford, Dorothy Cummings, Patricia Cummings, Deborah Samples and Sandra Smith, all of Procious, Delphia Pearl Saare of Youngstown, Ohio, Shirley Simmons of Apex, N.C.; sons, Dallas Henry Hanshaw and Doy Hanshaw, both of Procious, Delfred Hanshaw Jr. of Hesperia, Calif. [sic - grandson]; sisters, Dessie Butler of Stockton, Va., Kathleen May of Valley Fork, Sena White of Powellton; brother, Harold Igo of Cleveland.  

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Carl Wilson Funeral Home, Clay, with the Rev. John Davis officiating.  Burial will be in Hively Cemetery, Valley Fork.  Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
