He declared he was born Aug 11 1874, and was then residing at 701 Poplar, Carthage, Jasper County, Missouri where he was a shoe worker employed by the Kant-Reith Shoe Co. of Carthage. He declared his nearest relative was Lenora Henshaw of the same address. He was recorded as medium height, medium build, brown eyes, dark hair.⁶
