Shubil E. Hinshaw

Shubil was shown age 5 in the 1860 census, Randolph County, North Carolina (New Salem post office, page 661). He was shown in dwelling 1550, family 1550, where the head of household was Huldah Robbins, age 64. Listed in the same household were two other people: John Wall, age 21, and Ruth Wall, age 24.²

It is unclear what relationship Shubil had with either Huldah Robbins or the Walls, or why a 5 year old child would have been apparently living away from his parents (presumably he was an orphan).
