He married Minnie -, about 1916.¹ Minnie was born Apr 1 1890⁸ [about 1893^1,7, about 1895⁴], Russia⁸.

On Jun 5 1917 William Raymond Hinshaw, age 29, registered for the World War I draft in Buffalo, Erie County, New York. He declared he was born Aug. 14 1887 in Indianapolis, Indiana, and was then residing at 1106 Main St. in Buffalo, employed as chief inspector with the Transmission Ballbearing Co. He declared he had previous military experience as a sergeant in the Cavalry, 1907-1913. He claimed an exemption due to "sick wife (dependent)". He was recorded as medium height, medium build, blue eyes, brown hair.³

Minnie died Mar 22 1967, buried Plot D 42A 4, Woodlawn Cemetery, 2530 Kalamazoo Avenue S.E., Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan.^8,10
