Born May 22 1899, Paint Rock Valley, Jackson County, Alabama.1,2,3,4,5,6  

Note that John's aunt Rachel Ann Henshaw had married Yeargin Swaim three years before John was born.  So it appears that John was probably named after his uncle Yeargin Swaim.7  

John was shown in the 1920 census (Feb 18 1920), living in the household of brother William, Harmony Precinct, Jackson County, Alabama:6

Hinshaw, John Y, brother, age 22, born in Alabama; parents born in Alabama; occupation: farm laborer, working out.

He married Joe Anna Stovall2 [Joeanna Stovall3, Anna Stovall1].  Joe was born Oct 22 1901.2,3  

In 1966 John was living in/near Cowan, Franklin County, Tennessee.3  

John Yeargin Hinshaw died May 30 1966, Davidson County, Tennessee; age 67.2,3,8  

Joe died Dec 23 1991, Humphreys County, Tennessee; age 90.3,8
