March 25, 1942 -- Aug. 3, 2010Kenneth Lee Hinshaw, 68, of Bend passed away Tuesday, Aug. 3.
Born in McMinnville, Kenneth was the son of Robert and Marjorie McCoy. He was married May 12, 1972, in Phoenix to Pynne L. Cutts of Lebanon. She was his loving wife, companion and friend for 38 years.
Kenny grew up in the Willamina and Newberg area. He was a 1961 graduate of Newberg High School. Kenny served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965 as a military police officer.
Kenny loved God and dedicated himself to loving his family. He enjoyed all kinds of activities such as fishing, golfing, tennis, bicycling, canoeing camping, skiing and horseback riding. He enjoyed watercolor painting, woodworking and baking pizza.
He worked in sales for many years. As a business owner, he and his wife enjoyed many years working together. He retired as a cabinetmaker.
His dream was to retire with his wife, and travel in their motor home, especially visiting all the grandkids, great-grandkids, family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Pynne L. Hinshaw; parents Robert and Marjorie McCoy; daughter Jolie Novak of Redmond; sons Todd Modderman of South Dakota and Rod Modderman of Ohio; brothers Mel Woodruff and LeRoy Leathers; sisters Mary Hartz, Leanna Dancer, Michelle McCoy, Pam Ingram, Linda Leathers, Patty Leathers, Joyce Painter, Beth Smith; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the IOOF Cemetery in Lebanon, followed by a celebration of life at the Lebanon Elks Club.
Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Partners in Care Hospice, 2075 N.E. Wyatt Court, Bend, OR 97701.
Baird Memorial Chapel of La Pine is handling arrangements.
