After the death of his mother, Martin was raised by a woman named Jackson near the Miner Switch Community of East Prarie, Mississippi County, Missouri.1  

He married Mamie Crenshaw, Nov 16 1900, East Prarie, Mississippi County, Missouri.9,10,11  Mamie, daughter of Richard + Maggie Crenshaw, was born Dec - 1881, Missouri.12  

He then married Claudia Leola Bohanon, Jan 11 1903, Morehouse, New Madrid County, Missouri.1  Claudia, daughter of Stephen Alexander Bohannon & Cordelia Ellen Pratt, was born Sep 11 1881, Camden, Benton County, Tennessee.1,2,3,7,9

Martin Luther Hinchey died May 9 1939, Wyatt, Mississippi County, Missouri; buried May 11 1939, Oak Grove Cemetery, Charleston, Mississippi County, Missouri.1,8,14  

Margaret died Oct 18 1955, Charleston, Mississippi County, Missouri; buried Oak Grove Cemetery, Charleston, Missouri.1,8,9  

Martin was a Methodist minister.  He preached around Catron, Matthews, and Lilbourn, Missouri.1  He was described by a descendent as "a fire and hell brimstone preacher".1
