Born Feb 15 18731,2,3,4,5,6 [about 18727], Woodford County, Illinois1,2,3,4,5,6.  

He married Rebecca E. Young, about 1898.1,2  Rebecca was born May - 1871, Ohio.1,2,3  

A Rebecca Young married an Arthur D. O'Neill on Jul 10 1886 in Cook County, Illinois8 - it's possible this might have been a first marriage for Rebecca9 (note son Ralph ONeil Hinshaw); however Rebecca was shown in the 1910 census in her first marriage to Jehu Hinshaw,2 so the above O'Neill marriage might be unrelated to this Rebecca.9

Hinshaw, Ralph, son, age 1, born Feb 1899 in Illinois; father born in Illinois; mother born in Ohio.
Living two houses away in 1900 was the family of Jehu's uncle George.10

Mr. and Mrs. J. Hinshaw and family spent Labor Day with friends at ElPaso [sic], Illinois.  Last week Mrs. Hinshaw entertained friends from Beloit, Wis., who came to visit the Century of Progress.

Mr. and Mrs. Hinshaw returned Saturday from El Paso, Ill., where they attended the funeral of Mr. Hinshaw's sister, Mrs. Luluu [sic] Jones, Friday.  Mrs. Jones had been seriously ill but was thought to be improving.  However a turn for the worse resulted fatally.

Mrs. Hinshaw had the misfortune to fall on the icy pavement while going to church Sunday and injured her left wrist.  It has been badly swolen and painful, but is much better with no ill effects.

Z. [sic] Hinshaw of Itasca is an employee at Vaughan's seed store, Chicago, which was held up by bandits Saturday.  

He was compelled to guard the door at the point of a gun.  A cashier [..unclear..]ing to faint away gave the alarm; another employee wrested the money bay [sic] away from the fleeing bandits as they were fleeing.  

Mr. Hinshaw did not have time to think of being afraid, he just did as he was told.

Mrs. Hinshaw entertained her brother, Newton Young, of Cambridge, Ohio, last week who brought his daughter's family, Mr. and Mrs. George Molatto of Newcomertown.

Mrs. J. Hinshaw continues quite ill, her daughter, Mrs. Adeline Frost of Wisconsin, is here caring for her mother.  It is hoped that Mrs. Hinshaw will improve more rapidly under special care.

Mrs. Hinshaw was able to go to the home of her son in Beloit, Sunday, where she plans to remain for a time, then visit her daughter in Mauston, Wisconsin.  Her daughter has been calling for Mrs. Hinshaw during her illness the past five weeks.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Saxby and children of Oak Park, moved into the former home of Mr. and Mrs. Hinshaw.  They have purchased the place and plan to make Itasca their permanent home.

Jehu Hinshaw died Dec 28 1939, Cook County, Illinois.20

A number of friends and neighbors from Itasca attended the funeral of John [sic] Hinshaw in Bensenville Saturday afternoon.  Mrs. O. Mason, Miss Grace Lawrence, Mrs. W. Weber and Miss Idaclare Lawrence sang, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Geo. Bechtel.

The many Itaska neighbors of Mrs. Rebecca Hinshaw extend sincere sympathy in her recent bereavement.  David Clark Hinshaw was buried Monday afternoon, the Rev. Geo. W. Jenkins officiating at the funeral services.
