Born Jan 13 18891,3,4,5,6 [Jan - 18882], on the family farm, near Wilsey, Morris County, Kansas1,3,4,5,6.  

She married Walter H. Newfarmer, Dec 26 1906, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri.1,3  Walter was born May 10 1875, Ohio.1  


Geneva Elberta Newfarmer, born Jul 8 1909, White City, Kansas.

Walter died Aug 28 1911, Burdick, Morris County, Kansas; buried Wilsey Cemetery, Wilsey, Morris County, Kansas.1  Walter was murdered in the presence of his wife and daughter in an argument with his former employer, for whom Elsie and Walter had been keeping house.1  

After Walter died, Elsie and daughter moved to Kansas City, Missouri.1  

She then married Frank E. Brady.1  Frank was born Boone, Iowa.  

No children from the second marriage.1  

Elsie took-in the wife and son of her brother Lewis while he was stationed at Camp Pike, Arkansas.1  After his wife died, Elsie raised their son, Lewis Everett Hinshaw, Jr..1,5  

Elsie and daughter (but without husband Frank) and nephew Lewis were shown in the 1920 census (Jan 1920), 3832 Garfield Avenue, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri:5

Brady, Mable, head-of-household, age 30, born in Kansas; parents born in Illinois; owned home; occupation: laundress, own home.
Newfarmer, Geneva, daughter, age 10, born in Kansas; father born in Ohio; mother born in Kansas; attended school.
Hinshaw, Lewis E., nephew, age 3 years 1 month, born in New York; father born in Kansas; mother born in Massachusetts.

Daughter Geneva was killed in an airplane crash while learning to be a pilot, Jul 13 1929, Kansas City, Missouri.1  

Elsie and Frank were divorced sometime before 1930.6  

Elsie and nephew Lewis were shown in the 1930 census (Apr 12 1930), 3832 Garfield Avenue, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri:6

Brady, Mable, head-of-household, age 41, born in Kansas; parents born in Illinois; divorced; owned home ($3000 value); no radio in home; occupation: none.
Hinshaw, Le[..smudged..], nephew, age 14, born in New York; father born in Kansas; mother born in New York; attended school.

Frank died 1937, Boone, Iowa.1  

After Frank died, Elsie returned to Wilsey, Kansas where she lived until her death.  

Elsie Mable Hinshaw died Nov 27 1987, Council Grove, Morris County, Kansas; age 98 years.1,4
