Born Aug 29 1888, Pond Grove (now Valley Rd. off Reynolda Rd.), Forsyth County, North Carolina.^1,2,3,4,5  

Mabel graduated from high school in 1906 (10 grades) and from Salem College in 1908.⁶  At Salem College she was the Vice-President of the Class of '08.⁷  

The following article was published in the "Laurensville Herald" (Laurensville, South Carolina) on August 20, 1920:⁸

MISS MABELL HINSHAW of Winston Salem, is the guest of her sister, MRS. B.M. WOLFF, West Main St.

In 1926 Mabel was still living in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.⁹  

She married Joseph Scott Blackwell, Jun 28 1930.¹  Joseph was born Jul 28 1888, Pine Hall, North Carolina.^1,10  

Joseph died Dec 2 1965, Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina.^1,10  

Mabel Lee Hinshaw died Sep 20 1973, Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina; age 85.^2,11
