Born 1843, Tennessee.1,2,3
During the Civil War John enlisted, along with his half-brother James, in the 29th Tennessee Infantry.1 He then served as a private in Company B, 12th Tennessee Cavalry.1
John W. Henshaw died May 30 1864, Greenville, Tennessee; age 21 years 10 days.1,4 John was killed in action.4
