Virginia finished high school in 1953 in Frankfort, Indiana. She then spent three years at the Pentecostal Bible School of Theology at Tupelo, Mississippi.3
She married Bobby Ray Cottongin, Jul 29 1955, Kinder, Allen Parish, Louisiana.2,3 Bobby, son of Berton Bennie Cottongin & Virgie Victoria Baggett, was born Jun 10 1934, LeBlanc, Iberville Parish, Louisiana.3,5,6,7,8
Bobby attended two years at the Pentecostal Bible Institute in Tupelo. Virginia and Bobby worked a year at the Tupelo Children's Mission orphanage.3

Virginia worked as an operator for Southern Bell Co., and as a matron for the Tupelo Children's Mansion; she also worked as ward secretary at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was an Avon rep for over 45 years. She is a devout christian who followed her mother's beliefs in the Pentecostal Faith.2

Kinder,LA- Funeral service for Mr. Bobby Ray Cottongin, 73, will be held Friday, June 15, 2007 at 10a.m. in Kingsfarm Pentecostal Church in Kinder. Rev. Steve Haymon & Rev. A.A. Haymon Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Green Oak Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Visitation will be in the funeral home Thursday from 3pm-9pm and will continue Friday at 8a.m. in the church until time of service. Mr. Bobby Ray Cottongin lost his battle from a massive stroke on Tuesday, June 12, 2007. He was born in LeBlanc on June 10, 1934 and was raised in Kinder. He went to Kinder Elementary School and graduated from Kinder High School. He attended PBI (Pentecostal Bible Institute) in Tupelo, MS where he met his bride. They worked at the Tupelo Children’s Mansion. He was a member of Kingsfarm United Pentecostal Church. He worked on the Lake Charles Police Force and the Allen Parish Sheriff Dept. He also worked at the Savant Lumber yard. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Virginia Hinshaw Cottongin of Kinder; three children, Debbie Cottongin Gillen & husband James of Westlake, Dale Cottongin of Kinder, Vicky Cottongin Jarreau & husband Donnie of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Aaron, Jason Andrea, Erica, Avery, Ainsley & Eason; sister, Claudia Cottongin Ford & husband Carl of Wharton, TX; host of nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by his mother, father, and three brothers.
