He married Gladys Luella Cother, Apr 10 1895, Center Grove, DuBuque, Iowa.1,2,8  Gladys, daughter of William Cother & Esther Underwood1,6, was born Dec 31 18651,6 [Dec - 18664,5], Castalia, Winneshiek County, Iowa1,6.  Note that Linneus' brother Elmer married Gladys' sister Alice Mae Cother.

On Apr 10 1907 Linneus purchased 160 acres of land in Beltrami County, Minnesota.  About this same time father Jacob and brother Erwin also purchased land in the same county.12

Living nearby in 1910 were Linneus' parents13 and also the family of brother Elmer.14

Not wishing to be outdone by any other municipality Arnolds Park had a rather warm election Monday in which it is thought practically every man in the corporation voted with the exception of two.  Linn Hinshaw was successful in being elected Mayor over Art McKinney by a vote of 81 to 60.
