On Sep 12 1918 Thomas Wesley Henshaw, age 33, registered for the World War I draft in Westmoreland, Pottawatomie County, Kansas.  He declared he was born April 2 1885, and was then residing in Wamego, Pottawatomie County, Kansas where he was a Minister of the Gospel.  He declared his nearest relative was Oddis F. Henshaw of Wamego.  He was recorded as medium height, medium build, brown eyes, red hair, with "deformed left limb - caused by spinal meningitis".7
