On Aug 24 1861, Henry joined as a Private in the First Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Company C (this regiment was organized at Dayton, Ohio, from August 5, 1861 to October 30, 1861, to serve for three years).2,3
Henry Henshaw was killed in Virginia during the Civil War. In destroying some captured arms, one of the muskets exploded, severing an artery, from which he bled to death.4
