Born Aug 15 1886, Scottsboro, Jackson County, Alabama.4  (Feb 14 1887).2,3  

Samuel was a logging truck driver.2  

He married Lucinda Belle Endsley2,5 [Belle Endsley1], Mar 3 19122,5, Clanton, Lawrence County, Arkansas2,5.  Lucinda was born Mar 5 1886, Kings Mill, Sharp County, Arkansas.1  

On May 31 1917 Sam J. Henshaw, age 30, registered for the World War I draft in Denton, Lawrence County, Arkansas.  He declared he was born Aug 15 1886 in Scottsboro, Alabama, and he was then residing in Denton, Arkansas where he was a "smelter working out" employed by American [..unclear..] Smelting Co. of Coney, Kansas.  He declared a dependent a wife and two children.  He claimed a draft exemption due to a broken foot & inflamitory rhem[..unclear..].  He was recorded as 5 feet 6 1/2 in. tall, medium build, blue eyes, brown hair, with a broken foot.4  

Sam and family were shown in the 1920 census (Jan 17-18 1920), Davidson Township, Sharp County, Arkansas:3

Henshaw, Sam, head-of-household, age 32, born in Alabama; parents born in Alabama; rented home; farmer.
Henshaw, Bell, wife, age 32, born in Arkansas; parents born in Arkansas.
Henshaw, Corine, daughter, age 6, born in Arkansas; father born in Alabama; mother born in Arkansas; attended school.
Henshaw, Pauline, daughter, age 4, born in Arkansas; father born in Alabama; mother born in Arkansas.

Samuel Jones Henshaw died Oct 10 1926, buried Highland Cemetery, Sharp County, Arkansas.1  

On Mar 21 1936, at age 53, Belle remarried in Sharp County, Arkansas to L.C. Phillips of Hardy, Arkansas.2,6  She is also buried in Highland Cemetery, Sharp County, Arkansas.1
