On Sep 12 1918 Abner Owen Hancher, age 42, registered for the World War I draft in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. He declared he was born June 17 1876, and was then residing at 398 Newport Ave., Detroit, Michigan where he was a machine repair foreman employed by Maxwell-Chalmers Co. of Detroit. He declared his nearest relative was his wife, Esma Blanche Hancher of the same address. He was recorded as medium height, medium build, grey eyes, light hair.3
Abner Owen Hancher died 1936, buried IOOF Cemetery, Alexandria, Madison County, Indiana.4
