He married Floy Muriel Sturdivant.3  

He then married Cara Mae Darling.8,9  Cara, daughter of W.T. Darling & Florence Snipes, was born Aug 8 1924, Union County, Mississippi.8  

Cara Mae had been previously married to V.I. Sturdivant, who died in 1967,8 and by whom she had children William Larry Sturdivant and Sandy Sturdivant.2,8,10  

In 2005 Jacob and Cara Mae were residing in San Antonio, Texas.9  

Cara died May 24 2008, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas; age 83.8

Cara Henshaw SAN ANTONIO - Cara Mae Henshaw, 83, died Saturday, May 24, 2008, in San Antonio, Texas.  She was born Aug. 8, 1924, in Union County to W.T. Darling and Florence Snipes Darling.  

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Sunset Funeral Chapel in San Antonio.  Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Vista Memorial Park in New Albany.  United Funeral Service of New Albany is in charge of local arrangements.  

Survivors include her husband, Jacob M. Henshaw; one son, W. Larry Sturdivant of San Antonio; one daughter, Sandy Russell of Placerville, Calif.; one stepson, Jake Henshaw of Sacramento, Calif.; grandchildren, Jeff Russell of Dallas, Texas, Sarah Henshaw Choularton of Washington D.C., and Rebecca Henshaw of Berkley, Calif.; nephew, Jerry and Marion Armstrong and family of Dime Box, Texas; niece, Margaret Dunlap of New Albany; numerous nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her first husband, V.I. Sturdivant, in 1967.

Jacob "J.M." Henshaw, age 94, passed away June 7, 2011.  He was born in Hawkins County, TN, on September 18, 1916 to William and Hattie Henshaw.  He retired as a First Sergeant from the U. S. Army in 1970.  A farm boy who worked construction and mining before entering the Army, J.M. served his country proudly in peacetime and war from the South Pacific to Europe.  He displayed a dedication to duty on battlefields and in military surgeries, and as an instructor in medical classrooms.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and presiding over a BBQ grill that turned red meat into fine dining.  With a keen eye for life's amusements, J.M. found bright spots in life's toughest moments.  He was preceded in death by his first wife of 25 years Floy Henshaw and second wife of 40 years Cara Henshaw, and his sisters Pauline W. Neas and Calla Lee Johnson.  He is survived by his son, Jacob "Jake" M. Henshaw, Jr. and wife Patricia; their daughters, Rebecca and her husband Dan Martell, and Sarah and her husband Richard Choularton, and great grandchildren, Isabella and Ethan; his nieces Charlotte W. Burnett and Carlene W. Foushee; his daughter-in-law Norma Sturdivant, and his step-daughter Sandy Russell and grandson Jeff Russell; and family members Jerry and Marion Armstrong and family.  Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m., Monday, June 13, 2011, at Sunset Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.  Condolences may be offered at www.sunsetfuneralhomes.com
