Born Aug 15 1854, Manchester, Chesterfield County, Virginia.1 (Aug 18 1854).2 (Aug 15 1853).3 (King and Queen County, Virginia).2,3 Maria's name was pronounced with a long 'i' sound (like Mariah).1
She married Henry Thomas Martin, Mar 29 1875, King and Queen County, Virginia.1 (Feb 6 1879).3 Henry, son of George Martin & Ellender Chenault, was born Mar 15 1851, Caroline County, Virginia.3 Note that Maria's sister Betty Jean married Henry's brother Samuel Pierce Martin, and sister Lucy married Henry's brother George Moses Martin.3
