Moore, age 44, registered for the World War I draft in Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana.  He declared he was born April 14 1874, and was then residing at 3 Gosport, Owen, Indiana, a self-employed farmer.  He declared his nearest relative was Anna M. Moore of the same address.  He was recorded as medium height, medium build, gray eyes, light hair.31

Anna and Emerson's two eldest sons were stone cutters during the Depression.  They carved the elaborate marker stone for Anna and Emerson's grave32 (see photo).
