She married Joe Oakley Swaim, Aug 23 1906, Larkin, Jackson County, Alabama.2,3  Joe, son of William Swaim & Hester Jane Collins, was born Sep 4 1886, Estillfork, Jackson County, Alabama.2,3,4,6  (c1888).5  Note that Elizabeth's sister Carrie married Joe's brother Alva Swaim.2

Willie Belle Swaim, born Mar 14 1907; died Apr 1 1971, buried Clay Cemetery, Princeton, Alabama; married Erskin W. Hall, c1924 (child: Joyce Hall).
Robert Gentry "Gent" Swaim, born May 14 1911; died Mar 27 1981, buried Henshaw Cemetery; married Lola Duboise, Jan 2 1932, Swaim, Alabama (children: Glenda, Betty Jean and Joe Thomas "Joey" Swaim). 4
Martha Jo Swaim, born Nov - 1913; married Rice Hambrick.
Ida Mae Swaim, born May 20 1919; married Gordon Prince.
Mary Nell Swaim, born Mar 14 1922; married Jewell Mullins.

On Jun 5 1917 Joe Oakley Swaim, age 30, registered for the World War I draft in Jackson County, Alabama.  He declared he was born Sept. 4 1886 in Estill Fork, Alabama, and was then residing in Swaim, Alabama where he was a farmer with a wife and three children.  He was recorded as tall, slender, light brown eyes, dark brown hair.6  

Bettie and family were shown in the 1920 census (Jan 19 1920) Bishop Precinct, Jackson County, Alabama:5

Swaim, Joe O., head-of-household, age 32, born in Alabama; parents born in Alabama; rented home; occupation: farmer, general farm.
Swaim, Bettie, wife, age 32, born in Alabama; parents born in Alabama.
Swaim, Willie B., daughter, age 12, born in Alabama; parents born in Alabama; attended school.
Swaim, Robert G., son, age 8, born in Alabama; parents born in Alabama; attended school.
Swaim, Martha J., daughter, age 6, born in Alabama; parents born in Alabama.
Swaim, May I., daughter, age 8 months, born in Alabama; parents born in Alabama.
Living next door in 1920 was the family of sister Carrie;7 also living nearby was the family of brother Emmett,8 as well as Bettie's parents and siblings.9  

Joe died Feb 7 1945, Estillfork, Jackson County, Alabama; buried Henshaw Cemetery, Jackson County, Alabama.2,3,4  

Elizabeth Bettye Henshaw died Jan 12 1982, Estillfork, Jackson County, Alabama; buried Henshaw Cemetery, Jackson County, Alabama.2,3,4
