Bobby Henshaw

CHESAPEAKE - Bobby Eugene Henshaw, 72, our much-loved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, departed from us Nov. 27, 2008.  Bob was born Feb. 29, 1936, in Ryland, Ala., to Ora Clarence and Beatrice Tankersley Henshaw.  He loved his Alabama roots and carried them with him when he moved away after graduating from Madison County High School.  He met his wife Janett while both were working for the FBI in Washington, D.C.  He later made his career by owning B & J Sandblasting Company.  Bob enjoyed coaching for some of the premier adult softball teams in the Tidewater area.  In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his best friends, Post and Joan Roberts of Chesapeake.  His first passion was the University of Alabama Football but he was an all around sports enthusiast.  Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 37 years, Janett Ahart Henshaw.  Bob is survived by his daughter, Sue Henshaw Myatt, and son, David Henshaw, of Virginia Beach.  He also leaves behind his siblings, Eloise Wilson, Carolyn Henshaw, Carrie Dea Reeves and Eddie Ray Henshaw, who is currently serving his country with the National Guard in Baghdad, Iraq, and his grandchildren, Jimmy and Tommy Myatt, Sheena and Justin Henshaw, and many nieces and nephews.  The family will receive friends and family for a viewing today in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, from 3 to 5 p.m.  A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.  Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.  We love you Bob, and "GO BAMA."
