On Nov 9 1944 Rayford J. Bailey, born 1926 in Alabama, had enlisted at Fort McClellan, Alabama as a private in the U.S. Army. He declared he had a grammar school education, was then single, without dependents, and employed as a draftsman.10
Faye was a caregiver her whole life. She cared for her children, husband, mother-in-law and mother. She worked many summers alongside her father helping and working their garden so that they could sell their produce in town every weekend. She was an avid quiltmaker and pieced everything by hand.5

Elsie Faye Bailey, 75, of Scottsboro died Saturday. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today from the Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Prince Cemetery.
