He married Alma Dorothy Turman² [Dorothy Turman^1,3,8,9,10], Dec 22 1935², Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas².  Marriage license dated Dec 16 1935.⁸  Alma, daughter of James Wilson + Ela Hettie Turman, was born Nov 9 1912, Arkansas.^3,5,9,10,11  

Harold and family were shown in the 1940 census (Apr 18 1940), Greenfield Township, Poinsett County, Arkansas:³

During World War II Harold served as a PFC in the U.S. Marine Corps.⁷  

In 1996 Alma was living in Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas.⁵  

Alma died Mar 18 1996, buried Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery, 3910 Harrisburg Road, Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas.^5,11

Hinshaw Robert H. Hinshaw Sr., 87, of Jonesboro, died Saturday at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.   Funeral arrangements will be announced by Gregg Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Robert's obituary was published in "The Jonesboro Sun" (Jonesboro, Arkansas) on Monday, October 23, 2000:¹³

Hinshaw Robert Harold Hinshaw, 87, of Jonesboro died Saturday at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center.   Born in Poinsett County, he was a Mason, a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, a retired farmer and a retired merchant.  He had lived in Jonesboro for four years and was a former resident of Harrisburg.  He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.   He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Hinshaw.   Survivors include two sons, Frank Hinshaw of Jonesboro and Robert H. Hinshaw of Trumann; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.   Funeral services will be at 2 Tuesday afternoon at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Brown and Rev. Bill Moore officiating.  Burial will be in Jonesboro Memorial Park under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Jonesboro.   Pallbearers will be Mark Hinshaw, David Hinshaw, Bill Dunaway, Michael Secrease, Mark Hogan and Roy Guthrie.   Honorary pallbearers will include Charlie Reeves, Jerry Jacobs, Levi Hitt, Gary Moss and Ervin Teague.   Visitation will be this evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.   Persons who wish to leave memorials are asked to consider Pleasant Grove Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
