Born 1823, Halewood.1  

He married Margaret Bridge, Dec 1 1847, Huyton by Roby, Lancashire, England.1  Margaret, daughter of Edward + Elizabeth Bridge, was born about 1827, Huyton by Roby, Lancashire, England.1,3  (Huyton is today a suburb of Liverpool).1  

John lived on Wilde Street in Liverpool, England.1  

In the 1851 census John was shown as age 27, born in Halewood.1  

In the 1881 census Margaret and children were shown living at 38 Landseer Rd., Everton, Liverpool:2,3

Marjorie Henshaw, head-of-household, age 53, born in Huyton, Lancashire; widow.
Edward Henshaw, son, age 25, born in Liverpool, Lancashire; unmarried; occupation: bricklayer.
Bessie B. Henshaw, daughter, age 16, born in Liverpool, Lancashire; unmarried.
Kate Henshaw, daughter, age 14, born in Liverpool, Lancashire; unmarried; occupation: "apprentice book py".
Fanny E. Henshaw, daughter, age 12, born in Liverpool, Lancashire; scholar.
Isaac Henshaw, son, age 28, born in Liverpool, Lancashire; married; occupation: general porter.
Cecil Kirk, boarder, age 27, born in Birmingham, Stafford; unmarried; occupation: bricklayer.

From the 1881 census it seems that John died before 1881,1,3 although he was alive in 1874 when his son Isaac was married.1
