Born 1832, London, England.1,10 (c1833).2,8,11,12 (c1834, Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio).4
In 1846 George moved with his parents to Cincinnati, Ohio1 (but by 1870 he was living just across the Ohio River in Covington, Kentucky).2
He married Sarah Alice LeBlond2,4,9 [Alice LaBlond9]. Sarah, daughter of Robert E. + Sarah LeBlond, was born about 1844, London, England.2,4
George and family were shown in the 1870 census (Jun 3 1870), Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky:2

George Henshaw was shown in the 1890-91 city directory of Cincinnati, Ohio, with his business name shown as "G.H. & Sons" and his residence shown as "Hackberry near Madisonville avenue".13 Also shown in the same 1890-91 Cincinnati directory were his brother Ed as well as Ed's sons George, Richard and Ed Jr..13 Besides their residential listings, George and his brother Ed were also shown in the business listing of G. Henshaw & Sons, "Manufacturers, Wholesale and Retail Furniture Factory and Salesroom", southwest corner of Canal and Elm, Cincinnati.13 In addition, shown at the same residential address was son Robert Henshaw, a salesman at G. Henshaw & Sons.13
Sarah died Feb 24 1898, at her home, 1627 East McMillan Street, Walnut Hills, Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio; buried Feb 26 1898, section 72, lot 55, Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio.4 Medical: Sarah died from uterine cancer.4
On Sep 18 1905, George arrived in New York City (apparently alone) on the ship S.S. Cretic, having departed from Genoa, Italy on Sep 1 1905:14

George I. Henshaw died Jul 7 1919, at his home, 1627 East McMillan Street, Walnut Hills, Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio; buried Jul 9 1919, section 72, lot 55, Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio.1,4 (death certificate number 43331, volume #3028).15
The Cincinnati Commercial Tribune published a death notice for George on July 8, 1919:16
HENSHAW - George Monday, July 7, in his eighty-sixth year Funeral from his late residence 1627 East McMillian street, Wednesday July 9, at 10:30 a.m. Please omit flowers.
George's obituary was also published in the Cincinnati Commercial Tribune on July 8, 1919:1

CityGeorge Henshaw, President of the G. Henshaw & Sons Furniture Company, died at his home, 1627 East McMillan Street, Walnut Hills, yesterday morning. Mr Henshaw had been active in the furniture business in Cincinnati for nearly half a century, having succeeded his father, the founder of the business, as head of the firm. Through Mr. Henshaw's activities the business grew to be one of the largest furniture houses in the Middle West and aided materially in making Cincinnati the center of the furniture market.
Mr. Henshaw was born in London, England, in 1832 and came to Cincinnati iwith his parents in 1846. He was appointed Police Commissioner of Cincinnati by William McKinley, then Govener of Ohio, and was reappointed for two successive terms by Governers Nash and Bushnell. He served in this capacity until 1902 when the office was abolished.
He is survived by his two sons, Robert and Arthur Henshaw and a daughter, Mrs. William Kelly of Covington
The Cincinnati Enquirer also published the following article on July 30, 1919:6
George Henshaw's Will Filed. Under the will of George Henshaw late President of the G. Henshaw & Sons Company, furniture manufatcturers, his household goods and effects are left to his son, Robert Henshaw, his daughter, Mrs. Ann Kelly, and his neice Alice Brutton.
He then provides that 50 shares of the G. Henshaw & Sons Company stock be held in trust by his son Robert Henshaw, the income to be paid to George J. Hoffman, Secretary and Treasure of the company, for life, but Robert Henshaw, or his sister are to have the privelege of purchasing this stock for $5000.00 at any time or if they do not desire to purchase it it may be turned over to Hoffman.
Fifty shares are left in trust the income to go to the testator’s brother, William Henshaw for life. The income from 75 shares is to go to his neice, Alice Brutton and the income from 150 shares to his son, Arthur Henshaw, for life. At the conclusion of these trusts the trust stock is to go to his son and daughter in equal shares. All the balance of his stock and the residue of the estate go to his son and daughter, equally.
A clause in the will suggests that his son and daughter retain the Millercreek real estate until they can realize an amount equal to 5 cents a square foot for it’s entire surface a through sale of it. The will was drawn March 26, 191[9 - unclear] and named his son, Robert Henshaw and his son-in-law, William H. Kelly, as executors and trustees. The estate is estimated at $76,000.00 in personal property.
