1946 ~ 2012
Kathryn Hinshaw Kuesterman of West Valley City died Thursday at 65 of complications from multiple sclerosis, which she suffered from for 29 years.
Kathryn was born Dec. 15, 1946 in Kansas City, Mo., and graduated from Park College. She went to work for The Associated Press in Chicago, Minneapolis and then Salt Lake City, where she met fellow worker Robert Kuesterman. They were married Nov. 18, 1972.
She earned a degree in Russian from the University of Utah and then worked 16 years as a proof reader for Deluxe Corp., retiring when her disease became too advanced.
While she was able, Kathryn enjoyed camping, hiking and cross-country skiing. She was attracted particularly to caves and petroglyphs.
She took in stray cats and dogs, enjoyed reading and in recent years became passionate about politics.
She is survived by her husband; daughters Carina Dillon of Tooele and Lyra Kuesterman of Eugene, Ore.; mother Maxine Hinshaw of Kansas City, Mo.; siblings Lewis Hinshaw of Baldwin City, Ks., April Brown of Warsaw, Mo., and Doug Hinshaw of Cave Creek, Az.; and six grandchildren.
