She married John Henry Chesher, Feb 11 1872.1,3  John, son of John Thomas Chesher & Mary Cotner, was born Jan - 1850, Grainger County, Tennessee.1,2,3,4  John was the brother of Thomas Jefferson Chesher who married Amanda's sister Samantha.3

Nancy E. Chesher, born 1875.
Sarah M. Chesher, born 1876 (probably died young).
William Henry Chesher, born Jan 12 1877; died Feb 1946.
Minnie B. Chesher, born 1879; married Thomas Stepp, Nov 2 1902.
Maggie Lucretia Chesher, born Sep 4 1881; died Nov 25 1958.

Amanda and family were shown in the 1880 census (Jun 17 1880), Grainger County, Tennessee:2

Chesher, John H., age 30, born in Tennessee; parents born in Tennessee; farmer.
Chesher, Amanda E., wife, age 23, born in Tennessee; parents born in Tennessee; keeping house.
Chesher, Nancy E., daughter, age 5, born in Tennessee; parents born in Tennessee.
Chesher, William H., son, age 3, born in Tennessee; parents born in Tennessee.
Chesher, Minnie B., daughter, age 1, born in Tennessee; parents born in Tennessee.
Living next door in 1880 was John's widower father, John T. Chesher, age 55.5  Living two houses away in 1880 was Amanda's brother William,6 and two houses away on the other side was her brother James.7  Also nearby was the household of Amanda's parents.8  

Amanda E. Hinshaw died Feb - 1897.1  

Widower John and family were shown in the 1900 census (Jun 13 1900), Grainger County, Tennessee:4

Chesher, John, age 50, born Jan 1850 in Tennessee; parents born in Tennessee; farmer.
Chesher, Minnie, daughter, age 20, born Jun 1879 in Tennessee; parents born in Tennessee.
Chesher, Cretie, daughter, age 18, born Sep 1881 in Tennessee; parents born in Tennessee.
Chesher, Harrison, grandson [unclear], age 11, born Jan 1888 in Tennessee; parents born in Tennessee.
The Harrison Cheshire above was probably Thomas Harrison Cheshire, son of Amanda's sister Samantha Caroline (and John's brother).9  

John remarried c1909 to Mary Aretta "Retta" Stalsworth (Oct 15 1865 - Aug 23 1913).10  She was the daughter of Samuel Stalsworth & Susannah "Susan" Coffey,10 (Amanda's maternal aunt and uncle) and therefore was Amanda's first cousin (and John & Amanda's next door neighbor).11,12  

John and his new wife, Retta, were shown in the 1910 census (May 6 1910), Grainger County, Tennessee:13

Chesher, John H., head-of-household, age 60, born in Tennessee; parents born in Tennessee; married 1 year (second marriage); farmer.
Chesher, Rettie L., wife, age 44, born in Tennessee; parents born in Tennessee; married 1 year (first marriage); no children.

John died 1916, Grainger County, Tennessee; age 66.14
