Lifelong Clark County resident Kenneth W. Hinshaw died in Vancouver on Sunday, July 18, 1999, of cancer. He was 70. Mr. Hinshaw, who was on the football and track teams at Vancouver High School, graduated in 1947. He was an avid hunter and liked fishing and playing poker. Mr. Hinshaw owned Hinshaw Logging and co-owned Home Mortgage N.W. Survivors include his wife, Margaret, at home; one stepdaughter, Susan Gasaway of Poway, Calif.; four sons, Rick and Kenneth, both of Seaside, Ore., and Scott and Jay, both of Vancouver; one stepson, Stephen "Dick" Fletcher of Sweet Home, Ore.; one sister, Helen Bales of Vancouver; and seven grandchildren. A service will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel, with entombment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Kaiser Hospice, 2701 N.W. Vaughn St., Portland, OR 97201.

Mr. Hinshaw was born March 15, 1929, in Vancouver, where he lived all his life. He graduated from Fort Vancouver High School and owned Hinshaw Logging and then co-owned Home Mortgage N.W. In 1962, he married Margaret Rogers Fletcher.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Rick and Kenneth, both of Seaside, and Scott and Jay, both of Vancouver; stepdaughter, Susan Gasaway of Poway, Calif.; stepson, Stephen "Dick" Fletcher of Sweet Home; sister, Helen Bales of Vancouver; and seven grandchildren.
Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum. The family suggests remembrances to Kaiser Hospice.
